Meet Lesley

Lesley is a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant and founder of Southern Sleep Consulting. She lives in Lafayette, Louisiana with her husband and one year old son. She received her certification from the Family Sleep Institute in 2017. Before her son was born, Lesley received her BA from Louisiana State University in Sociology and was an elementary teacher for 8 years. She knows first hand how sleep deprivation and poor sleep habits can affect a child's behavior and academic abilities.


Once the school year ended and she was waiting for her little one to arrive, she read everything she could get her hands on to make sure she would create healthy sleep habits for him right from the start. Needless to say, as a first time mom she felt all over the place and had read about so many methods and techniques, she didn't know where to start. That's when she came across the Family Sleep Institute and turned her sleepless (fussy) baby into her little guinea pig. While completing over 250 hours of required coursework (which is 3 times greater than any other sleep consulting program), she was experiencing the first year of her son's life and using what she was learning to help him sleep better. It made her realize that no one tells new moms what to expect when it comes to a baby's sleep needs and she wanted to help all the moms she knew.


She loved teaching and working with children, so it only made sense for her to start this new adventure of teaching families about healthy sleep habits and helping infants and children get the sleep they need.
